Clemens Malich
Violoncello
Clemens Malich was born in Freising in 1967 and received his first cello lessons at the age of four. As a child, he lived in Istanbul for five years before studying at the music universities in Munich, Würzburg, Hamburg and London. He played with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under maestros such as Sergiu Celibidache and Leonard Bernstein. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has won prizes at various competitions, gives concerts in Europe and South America and is a regular guest at festivals. He is cellist of the Brahms Trio Hamburg and the Goldberg String Trio. As professor for cello he teaches at the HfMT Hamburg. Since 2003 he has also conducted the three orchestras of the Mendelssohn orchestra family: the Fanny Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra, the Moses Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra and the Felix Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra, with which he has already given concerts in several halls including the Philharmonie Berlin.
