Josefine Natalia Kardinar

Violin

Josefine Natalia Kardinar was born in Berlin in 2010. She is concertmaster of the Felix Mendelssohn Youth Orchestra and the Moses Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra. With these ensembles, she has performed in venues such as the KKL Lucerne, the Dvořák Hall in Prague, and the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie. She has had the opportunity to perform with musicians such as Kent Nagano and Rudolf Buchbinder, and will soon appear with the orchestra alongside Igor Levit at the Laeiszhalle and the Elbphilharmonie.

As a soloist and as first violinist in several ensembles, Josefine has appeared on numerous occasions, including performances at the Elbphilharmonie and the Laeiszhalle. She is a multiple first-prize winner of Jugend musiziert, both as a soloist and in ensembles. With her ensembles, she has twice won the Young ClassX Classical Music Prize. She is a scholarship recipient of the Talent Promotion Program of the Hamburg Conservatory and the German Foundation for Musical Life, and has previously been supported by the Haspa Instrument Fund and the Youth Chamber Music Initiative.

Josefine has participated in masterclasses with, among others, Prof. Yuzuko Horigome in Brescia, Prof. Mark Gothoni in Finland, and Sebastian Bohren and Jens Lohmann in Switzerland. For the past two years, she has been a junior student of Prof. Mark Gothoni at the Berlin University of the Arts.
