Stepan Simonian


Stepan Simonian was born in Moscow in 1981. At the age of twelve, he already gave his concert debut with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. He studied in Moscow and in Hamburg. He has received various prizes, including the Silver Medal at the Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2010. Invitations followed to important performance sites and event series, among them the Leipzig Bach Festival, the international piano festivals La Roque d’Antheron and Piano aux Jacobins in France, the Martha Argerich Festival Hamburg, and the ProArte and Pro-Musica concert series in Hamburg and in Hanover. Stepan Simonian has performed as a soloist with, for example, the Bach Kollegium Stuttgart, the Kirov Ballet Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphonic Orchestra, the Sinfonia Varsovia , and the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz. His performances have been broadcast by a number of television and radio stations in Germany and by Radio France. Since 2009, Stepan Simonian has been Professor for Piano at the Hamburg College for Music and Theater.
