Jens Oppermann was born in Hamburg, Germany 1960. While studying at the Albert-Schweitzer School, he started violin lessons with Prof. Marianne Petersen. In 1972-74 he won first prizes at the national ”Jugend musiziert”, as well as winning scholarships from the NDR Orchestra and Ritter Trust.

Heiberg, and was awarded the Koerber Prize two years in a row. In 1980 Mr. Oppermann became a member of the EUYO and took part in master-classes with Gerard Poulet in Paris.
