Sophia Jaffé

Sophia Jaffé has long been well known in the world of classical music as an experienced musician. Trained by her parents, by Prof. Herman Krebbers in Amsterdam, and by Prof. Stephan Picard at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, she has won a number of prizes in international competitions, including the Concours Reine Elisabeth in Brussels, the Concours de Genève, and the German Musical Competition. Since then, she has performed with renowned orchestras and conductors in Europe and beyond, has been a guest at music festivals all over the world, and is active in chamber music ensembles. Since 2011, she has supplemented her concert career with a professorship at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. Her versatile orchestra repertoire comprises works ranging from the 17th century to contemporary compositions. Numerous live recordings and radio productions document her performing. In Summer 2023, her CD with recordings of Brahms sonatas and Clara Schumann’s romances will be released.
