From 16 to 27 September 2026, Hamburg will once again become a centre of classical music as the 12th International Mendelssohn Festival (IMF) takes place in some of the city’s most prestigious venues. Outstanding artists from around the world will gather to present inspiring and high-calibre programs over several evenings at the Elbphilharmonie, the Laeiszhalle and St. Johannis-Harvestehude Church.

Summer School
September 14 – 27, 2026
From 14 to 27 September 2026, the 20th International Mendelssohn Festival Summer School will take place at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre, featuring masterclasses and concerts led by internationally renowned artists.
Highly gifted music students from around the world will gather for two intensive weeks of artistic exchange, presenting their abilities in masterclasses and further developing their playing under expert guidance.
