Auryn Quartett

At its founding in 1981, the Auryn Quartett chose the amulet Auryn from Michael Ende’s novel The Neverending Story as its godparent. Already in the following year, the Auryn Quartett was successful in the renowned ARD broadcasting company’s competition in Munich and at the international string quartet competition in Portsmouth. A worldwide career ensued that rapidly brought the ensemble to the heights of the international quartet scene. Since June 2007, the Auryn Quartett has also been the host of its own festival in Este, Italy; and since 2010, the quartet has had the Artistic Directorship of the Music Days Mondsee. Since 2003, the members of the Auryn Quartett have passed on their experiences as professors at the Detmold Music University. The Auryn Quartett has made numerous CD recordings of the high points of string quartet literature for a global community of music lovers.
