André Cazalet

André Cazalet began playing the horn when he was 10 years old and, at an early age, won his first two prizes at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In 1979, he played as a soloist in the Ensemble InterContemporain under Pierre Boulez. In 1980, Daniel Barenboim took him on as horn soloist in the Orchestre de Paris, to which Cazalet belongs to this day. He has played as a soloist under renowned conductors and is in demand as a partner for chamber music performances. His repertoire extends from the 18th century to contemporary works. Since 1985, he has been a Professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris and is invited to master classes all over the world, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, Vienna, Tokyo, Beijing, and Hamburg. In 2011, he was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique prize and is a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres of the French Ministry of Culture.
