José-Daniel Castellon

José-Daniel Castellon already received some of the highest musical accolades at an early age. In 1983, at the age of 20, he won the International Competition in Geneva before completing with honors his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon with Maxence Larrieu. At 19, he held his first position with the Orchestre national de l’Opéra de Lyon. At the request of Emmanuel Krivine, he became the solo flautist of the Orchestre National de Lyon before deciding for the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, where he performed from 1990 to 2004. He performs regularly as a soloist with renowned orchestras. A special interest in chamber music led him to found the Trio Pierre de Ronsard. He plays the entire repertoire from the Baroque to contemporary music and is enthusiastic about various crossover shows. Thanks to his esteemed master classes, he is a regular guest at some of the world’s most renowned music colleges. Since 2004, he has been a Professor for Flute and Chamber Music at the Haute école de musique de Lausanne.
